Green Mountain Music Camp
Green Mountain Music Camp (GMMC) was founded by Director Ellen Sager in 1989. GMMC is a week-long celebration in which music students can totally immerse themselves in their art form. Highly qualified clinicians coach the musicians through a series of band, choral, orchestra, theater ensembles. Theater majors work together with our talented directors and choreographers to present a performance at the end of camp.

The Mission of GMMC
Green Mountain Music camp is a celebration of music and youth combined. Our goal is to expose your child to many types of ensembles. By opening up new avenues to explore, the musician can gain knowledge to carry on beyond the week's end, while holding onto a special song or technique learned—possibly for a lifetime.

GMMC is located at the beautiful and historic Park-McCullough House in the small New England town of North Bennington. We feel this is the perfect canvas upon which to perform and create music and theater.

GMMC accepts 100 students on a first-come, first-served basis. No audition is necessary. Instruments accepted for this program are: Voice, Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Saxophone, Bassoon, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Baritone, Tuba and Percussion.

Housing is available for those living a distance away from North Bennington. Musicians are placed in homes of local campers. Local students in the past have enjoyed having out-of-town students in their homes for the duration. We take care in placing musicians with others of the same age and gender. The host family is responsible for meals and transportation to and from camp (an additional fee applies, see our Fees and Forms page).

For the 2017 season, GMMC will again offer a full-day program (9am–3:30pm) in which students can choose from a wide variety of specialties for a complete camp experience. They will be able to choose among Chorus, Band, Orchestra, Theater—or all of the options. The hugely successful Chamber Music program will again be offered.  Half day program is available for campers 7 and under (9am-12pm)  Cost is $150 (theater not included)
